it is possible that Steve saw the writing on the wall and recently took actions to steal the money. I am sure it existed as a term deposit at the times of the audit as that would have been easily checked. He probably realised the game was up and he had created no sustainable wealth out of it all (as he once had massive paper wealth here)... and he cracked and tried to make it his own. Disgrace he was able to get his hands on the money. He is probably hiding in a 3rd world country with the dubber cash in suitcases, never to be found.
