My only conclusion from a quick scan of the judgement is that shareholders were the only losers. They had to fund the legal costs of these petty and flawed disputes while being kept largely in the dark. Now both companies need to sift through the ashes of their former empires on their generous remuneration and incentive packages and explain to shareholders how they will fix this debacle without creating another legal quagmire.
