I agree that 6 month extension is better than 12 as it provides an impetus to close the deal.
On the Standard Chartered funds i do recall from the meeting that it was said an extension would be sufficient to keep the conditional deal alive.
I dont think anyone doubts that the renewal will take place, its just the timing that is unknown
TEG will continue to produce but any exploration will likely be on hold until long term tenure is secured
