I feel like this announcement is a reaction to the November FUM announcement, where they included a December intra-month update. That update proved to be not at all reflective of the December month end FUM update. Maybe just market moves, or maybe partially due to the fact it didn't include some factors that they've alluded to in this announcement. Either way, I think they've learnt their lesson and we won't again see them shooting from the hip mid-month.
If they ever do repeat a mid-month update it should be taken with a grain of salt given this announcement.
