Well to be fair, out of this profit they are expected to pay a decent return and fund the upgrade and replacement of their aging energy infrastructure and expand for future requirements.

If you look at their historical returns it's better described as adequate than stellar. Would you prefer it was all left to rot? That was the situation up to 3 years ago. No clear policy so no investment, everything ran down over 10 years and prices eventually rose and we had outages. AGL's share price tanked. We're now getting some decent profits AND investment which will bring energy prices down with cleaner power. Would you be happier with no profits and no investment? At least with AGL it's being reinvested here. Most of the others including "Energy Australia" (lol) ship their profits straight back to Hong Kong or China.

Perhaps you can go over to the supermarket threads and tell everyone there that Woolworths should reduce their margins by all of 2% so there is zero profit to invest in improved distribution. I'm sure you'd like to be serviced by Soviet era supermarkets.

By the way, nuclear power is expensive and wouldn't deliver any supply here for at least 10 years. That's why the previous mob did nothing about it when in government and only bring it up when they're in opposition.
