another coal gen unit goes offline today at earring as another finally comes back on.
can you quantify the amount of wind that is being retired? I will say that more wind developments will be coming offline than the combined retirements of coal and aging wind... plus more solar and storage.
did you read the article today about the long duration BESS auctions for nsw? 8 hour batteries... admittedly 50mw output... but with enough deployed... it will soak daytime negative rates and despatch into evening peaks and smooth night prices as capacity increases
