Hi galileo. Truth is the value of a company or anything at the end of the day. Is what a buyer will pay and what a seller will let it go for...at any given point in time ... good and bad economic conditions, supply and demand will have a Huge affect on Price up and down...
eg. There is a huge amount of houses foreclosures at the moment in the US trying to be off loaded at ridiculous prices way way below cost. There's No point the banks saying to any of the buyers no way the house cost twice as much to build than the buyers are offering. Point being if the sellers (banks) have to sell or want to sell Now.. they can't be too stubborn.
