From what I understand, the battery grade hydroxide that we are most interested in, which is used in the high nickel batteries, is consumed in Japan and Korea. China is a supplier, not a consumer.

The Japanese and Korean battery manufacturers are working, but if the Chinese producers aren't, hydroxide prices will rise.

Different story for carbonate, where domestic demand in China is a much bigger driver.

We may see a blow out in the hydroxide to carbonate premium.

Yeh, have to see how long chinese producers are away

but now they have corona increases in sth korea. sth korea could shut down taking away demand. Japan right next door. it's in italy, iran...where next.....
