there is quite a lot of scams against retail, that's for sure, one of the worse was a day (quite some time ago) when I saw a massive Stop Loss hunt on TWE that triggerred so many conditional orders that even the immediate buy back was being smashed back down by the inflood of triggerred Stop Loss sells. dodgy af.
But wrt to AAU I have picked up some buys recently at 0.003 and 0.0035, the scenarios when this happened were:
I bid 0.004 before Open and I was matched by someone selling at 0.003
I bid 0.004 after Close, during the final 10 minutes match out and was matched by someone selling at 0.003
I was checking Course of Sales and noticed 0.0035 midpoint trades happening without Buy side qty going down so I bid 0.004 and was met with the mid-point seller at 0.0035 (a bit of a punt but that was an unexpected 12.5% discount)
