I fully agree with you Jaffaroo. Look at what I wrote on another GPX thread about this Tanzanian govt move:

Of course they are tired of being shafted by foreign companies. Those companies have been mining gold and other precious metals for 20 years plus... yet paid literally zilch to the Tanzanian government. They even claimed vat rebates against royalties they were supposed to pay...with tax free holidays from inception...due to corruption and shameful deals.
Now the ball game has changed... there is an incorruptible and conscientious president trying to do the best for his people. And it is every country's right to change rules and legislation in its favour.. it is done everyday all over the world. So let us not get emotional when a poor country stands up and says enough is enough...
Serious miners will remain...but for those in for a fast buck...well those times are gone
