You mine the reserve NOT the resource. For any mine there will always be a proportion of the resource that cant be mined economically.
Best way to understand is to look at the section where you can see the pit and you can see the ore blocks outside the pit boundaries. These wont be mined.
But if you want to ramp the stock then, its all good and we will be mining to he centre of the earth!
