Not necessary. The Faraday program TLG was selected to participate is to develop battery and scale up UK supply chain. It was never about developing "Graphene battery". With the deposit they have, it could go both routes at the same time, especially when the demand on battery anode is pretty much graphite based in the industry, and it is not going to change soon.
I didn't see they ditch the other 3 industrial applications with graphene, but just battery is more demanding and more close to realisation with their graphite .
