Yeah, I think he was trying to hide info from us. Agree with it or not, the SOR had plenty of info in it that didn't reflect well on JK.
At that stage, it was clear that the only way out of this was through it. I'm not sure that I see any strategy of saving us and ASX by trying to prevent ASX from releasing info to the market. We'd know less, but it wouldn't have reduced the obligations they were trying to impose on ISX.
Actually, truth be told, now that we've removed "ASX conspiracy against a competitor" from the possibilities, I honestly have no idea what narrative exists to justify ASX pursuing ISX, other than belief of guilt.
