i'd like to give the benefit of the doubt too.. but tbh it sounds more like "we've hit some pretty frustrating technical issues" rather than, "just a few minor hiccups.".. also the reality is that this is the latest delay related to TRL-6.. and delays compound. since they setout their 'accelerated' commercialisation pathway in Aug 2023, they haven't really tracked along it all.. "End of CY 2025" is the latest moved goal posts for passing the TRL-6 milestone.. and yes it's great they have 'engaged' an independent assessor, but that (to my mind anyway) just meansthey're at least in discussions with or at most have finalised and contracted a third party company to conduct the assessment.. it's like progress.. but they're still behind.. and noone is actually on-site yet evaluating the pilot.
There is also the issue of the Safety Analysis Report (SAR), which hasn't gotten any mention lately but apparently is still ready for submission in mid-2025.. let's hope so.. so much more of the subsequnet liscensing (all of which involves the NRC..) depends on getting that submitted... they're lagging imo.. hate to say it
the problem is that while SLX is always quick to highlight the "triple opportunity", which is real, every delay makes GLE less likely to actually secure US govt funding related to those opportunities (e.g.re-establishing US domestic enrichment capability), and more likely that the incumbents, with their dated but proven technology (URENCO and UEC etc), will be the ones who prosper...
