Even if that was true, it still wouldn't explain why Jayson participated in the cr and only pulled out after the other company expressed its interest.

The TH was a mandatory TH period for the cr. It didn't need any other justification. If you meant the suspension, why would they want to go into suspension when the cr was already oversubscribed?
