To me at least, the only person that said that utilities stopped spending money seems to be IO (and that was after various turnaround comments all through that period where revenues & cashflow were declining ), and now we are getting fed various little comments that the purse strings are being loosened and we have yet to see any of that reflected in either revenues, cashflow or god forbid profits

It seems incredibly strange to me that despite Biden handing out billions to local companies to onshore manufacturing, roll out the EV and renewable infrastructure, that utilities thought it prudent to not take advantage of those funds and/or use their funds to benefit from the electrification of the entire grid. What seems more appropriate to me now is that these same utilities are going to pause spending until they get a clear indication what the trump admin is going to do in this space (it seems clear that he wants more oil & gas, which at least from my lay perspective slows down electrification and hence some of what most of these utilities deliver).

Anyway, perhaps I'm wrong and this is the bottom.......and frankly $5-10m in spending by these multi-billion dollar utilities hardly registers to them but is game changing to Pointerra so even in a potential down-cycle, 3DP could be a massive winner.......the point being whether IO is trustworthy (8 figure contracts lol), and whether he can execute for the company & shareholders (or is this just a personal vehicle for him to continue a pipe-dream fully funded by shareholders)....TBD I guess
