The JV you speak about is completely different and has nothing to do with AGY.

They actually have multiple JV's with CATL.

One called "Xiamen Ampcore Technology Limited" where ownership is 70% CATL / 30% ATL. This JV is for further expansion into EV.
Another called "Xiamen Ampack Technology Limited" where ownership is 30% CATL / 70% ATL. This JV is focusing on battery packs.
They also have one called "Ampace" which focused on medium sized batteries (electric scooters etc).

None of these have anything to do with AGY however, as no mention of the respective company names. In fact, if it did have anything to do with us, AGY would have announced the investment/offtake discussions with "Xiamen Ampeak Technology Limited" which ATL own 100% of the shares as a holding company of the two first JV's mentioned above, or "Ampace" if it were for EV batteries.

ATL, as it stands manufactures lithium batteries for electronic consumer goods. Mobiles, laptops etc. They have a huge market share in this segment. However noting that these lithium batteries use about 0.002% of the lithium that's required in an EV battery (ie. 50,000x small battery units would be equivalent to 1x EV battery).

So it will be interesting to see how much lithium they will actually need. But first we have to cross the bridge of JZ actually closing some sort of deal.

Everyone still waiting for that Korean/Japanese Tier 1 counterparty in the EV/battery supply chain as a strategic partner.
