Some rough, back-of-the-envelope estimates for ATL Li requirements:

Average per-phone battery capacity: 10 Wh

Phones sold annually, globally: 1.3 billion

    Annual total phone battery capacity:

    13 billion Wh

    = 13 million kWh

    LCE per kWh = 0.9 kg/kWh

13 million kWh = 11.7 million kg LCE

    = 11,700 tonnes LCE

    Circa 40% ATL market share

    = circa 4,700 tonnes LCE

Also, add tablets and other “small devices” batteries that ATL produce, and it is safe to say, imo, that they currently consume +5ktpa LCE.

Their aggressive expansion into the medium-sized battery pack segment, with a goal of doubling their “small devices” revenue from 2022 to 2027/8, INDICATES, IMO, that they could easily require whatever product we can produce from the 2ktpa plant.

Also, this part of the announcement is particularly interesting and encouraging, imo:

The company has conducted product testing with ATL and next step qualification process analysis works are being conducted in preparation for arranging the offtake agreement.
The companies have also discussed future strategic cooperation opportunities and synergies, including access to ATL networks for potential Rincon Lithium Project development, given ATL’s planned growth and future lithium requirement strategy
    .”
    [emphasis added]

Sure, it’s not guaranteed, but it sounds like TICK TOCK to me.
    Fantastic.

    imo
