An old house mate of mine was involved in research into early therapeutic intervention with young people suffering from autism spectrum disorders. During early development intervention was very well proven to to vastly improve the persons function in later life. From memory the effect was able to be reduced around 50% on a therapy v's no therapy basis. The therapies being used were somewhat similar, essentially teaching the brain to make the right connections while neuroplasticity was high.

ADHD is not part of the autism spectrum however most children with autism have ADHD. My point though is that is believe in the 'science' which proves that the right inputs at the right development stage have a meaningful long term effect on the severity of the conditions and the patient. The approach that Novita are using makes a lot of sense, screen all children with a simple test and then intervene at the right point with the right therapies. Over the course of a persons life the saving to the govt support services will easily justify the small outlay. The govt would be foolish to allow children to slip through the cracks when the societal cost of doing so is so high.

"The total cost of ADHD in Australia in 2019 is $20.42 billion, which includes financial costs of $12.83 billion and wellbeing losses of $7.59 billion. Productivity losses due to ADHD are substantial ($10.19 billion)."

The blanket screening approach makes sense, lets say it costs $20 per child to screen. In Aus there are around 300k children born each year. The cost to screen all at a certain age would be $6m, to treat the 4.2% who have ADHD in Aus with a single Tali Train program would cost ~$5m p.a. at $400 per child. Easy to see why the blanket test approach is already getting traction. The USA has close to 4m births per year with a higher prevalence at around 11%. The justification is clearly there and it's a very large addressable market globally.

"In June 2019 the Company agreed with the Victorian Education Department to release TALi DETECT to all Victorian public-school children in prep, year 1 and year 2"
