Indonesia's GDP in 2018 was UD$1.042 trillion. This was mainly due to the revenue from oil and gas. It has a lot of natural resources as well as agricultural produce. Although it is not considered a 3rd world country, 47.2% of the population of 255 million live under the poverty line and about 9.41% live on less than US$3.20/day. While the GDP of Indonesia is higher than Switzerland, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, the economic status of a country is not based solely on GDP. To add some perspective the GDP per capital of Indonesia is about US$3,885 while that of Switzerland is US$82,294. Indonesia is however a developing country and had an annual growth rate of over 5% over the last few years.
This has nothing to do with MSB but thought the statements made needed some qualification.
