HI Shell, The Patent has been approved and accepted for “Method of Producing Purified Graphite” which is only 1 component of the full patent application. I believe EGR will have also submitted other protection patents which are still under review hence the continuation part.
A "continuation application" is a patent application filed by an applicant who wants to pursue additional claims to an invention disclosed in an earlier application of the applicant (the "parent" application) that has not yet been issued or abandoned
