In view of the above patent being granted to Brainchip you just have to feel sorry for these researchers. They slogged away late at night keeping their work a secret and all the while believing they were just one publication away from academic immortality and then back in June, 2021 they publish and for almost seven months it would have been handshakes and back slaps all round.

Then today Brainchip’s patent surfaces and they are like yesterday’s newspaper only good for wrapping fish and chips or chups for our NZ friends.

To rub salt into the academic wound they also discover AKD1000 is already commercially available and being claimed by Mercedes & NASA.
