Mosteph, you have to go back to 2010 to see the takeover interest in UXC. Check out the ASX ANN's from back then. Geoff Lord was in charge then, and the share price was @ about 40c. Geoff Lord said no to a few private equity firms. He valued the company @ about $1.30 and the market laughed (no-one's laughing now- he got that right). UXC had one majorly under-performing business, and sold it. Since then, UXC has shined.
Around a year ago or more, the AFR said that Indian suitors were looking at the tech sector, and USC was mentioned. Nothing since.
UXC is not a "sexy" performer- no massive share price swings, really. The HC graph shows swings, but within a small range. Over a number of years, though, it has been a great performer. Very sensible and conservative management here in Chris Nicolli.
