Bain have signed an agreement to buy the assets of VAH for an undisclosed amount. That would leave VAH with approx $7bn of debt & whatever cash Bain paid to VAH to buy the assets. Bain have no obligations to pay the debts of VAH because they are not buying VAH they are just buying the assets
I believe that no creditors will get 100% back, what % each creditor gets is just guesswork.
The debt for equity swap does not guarantee paying any creditor 100% back, in fact quite the opposite.
