QF would not want VAH to disappear. If VA dies no doubt the ACCC and the Australia Government would have to force QF to divest JQ. Instead, QF will just make it very difficult for VA to recover and grow.
Like all companies exposed to travel at the moment. QF own a lot of their fleet, while VA lease half their fleet most likely in USD. Unfortunately, VA Domestic does not make the sort of money QF/JQ domestic make despite their market share.
Anyway, another new low for VA today. I'm surprised the media are not more concerned.
