However, there is plenty of time between now and the meeting date, which will allow other bidders to enter. That is our only real hope for an increase at this stage. Otherwise, vote against it and we can take our chances that Valad will survive. I believe the odds are slightly in favour of Valad coming out of its current hole, but are the odds good enough to turn down $1.80? In lieu of a better offer between now and the shareholders meeting, it will be a very tempting safety option for many holders. I am fortunate enough to hold this at a cost well below the offer price, but am still unsure at this stage about how I would vote. Long term holders will be those that suffer the most under this arrangement.
