It seems that the major hurdle to production has been the wafers, which include the pixels. I guess that the rest of the engineering is more straightforward. The only other issue may be the failure rate.
As a consumer, if I could buy a speaker with the specifications already published via the demo, I would definitely be prepared to pay a premium price. One chip at say 70 db, 2 chips at 77 db, 4 chips will generate 84 db, 8 chips 91 db, 16 chips = 98 db. Thirty-two chips generate 105 db (as loud as thunder). So the B & W NAUTILUS is $100,000, and the AKP specs are superior????
