Synergy is to build a 200MW/800MWh battery near the 100MW/200MWh lithium battery at Kwinana, south of Perth.I assume this 800MWh battery will also be lithium.
If a 800MWh V2O5 battery was built in Aust it would require 70% of AVL's proposed annual mine output, 7,912 tonnes of vanadium.The electrolyte needed would be 56 million litres or 22.4 olympic swimming pools, based on 70 litres of electrolyte per KWh.Is this possible in the foreseeable future?
The 70 litre of electrolyte per KWh is the number the CEO used in a recent interview.
A presentation 3/11/22 has 55 litres per KWh =44 million litres or 17.6 olympic pools.
Which number is right?
