    Of course jskf is right. Extracting vanadium pentoxide from the ore requires different processes depending on the grade of the ore (e.g. roasting for AVL grades, hydromettalurgical for TNG).

    However, regardless of the process used, the vanadium pentoxide that is extractted is not of a sufficient purity to be used in VRB's and requires additional purification to be used in the electrolyte. Hence why AVL is bringing out a pilot plant to do just that, and TNG has commissioned it's own testing in Vienna.
    My intention was not to cause an argument but to factually look at where both companies are sitting. Obviously I failed, so I'm out of here.
