Just FYI the accountants and money men want to deplete all resources over 10 - 20 years ( they just scale up to make it happen). It's when it is shorter than 10 years that you have to worry as they don't scale down to extend mine life.
Olympic Dam is an obvious outlier - along with other massive deposits - where to exploit them over 20 years is impossible. Just the expansion project (which did not go ahead) - would have required all of cat's production for a year - for the mining equipment and getting tyres was also difficult. But if you have a spare 20 bil to spend that's what you can do.
