re: Ann: VCEG reaches agreement to sell Germa... Post German wind sale VIR will be almost entirely be UK focused (landfill and a little wind). Infinis (Terra Firma) current bid for Novera demonstrates the value of renewable energy in the UK. The mandated requirements for renewable energy are high, and there is a shortage of renewable energy that is or can be generated. 3i (another large private equity firm like Terra Nova) also has a stake in Novera - these firms are smart and appreciate the long term value of renewable energy assets in the UK.
Agree selling the UK wind asset will deal with remaining debt and make VIR an enticing landfill gas only play. Maybe ENE would have interest, could offer shares for those that want it, derive corporate synergies etc.
Just a matter of time before someone makes a play for VIR in my opinion. Note that VIR does have corporate debt, so they need to use the cash they are getting from the German wind sale to pay some of this back. A sale of the UK wind or cashflow over time together with existing cash on hand should be able to repay the rest of the corporate debt.
Just my opinion
