I've got nothing but speculation on his twitter, and the new DRC mining regulations apparently affecting copper and colbat (apparently). WFE (colbat) which JB is still involved in is in canada so no worries about the DRC mining taxes unless they wanna make a boat and paddle across the ocean.

It's also reassuring that he's cut it loose from what it appears so he can spend more time on 4CE, VEC & WFE.

It's been a bit too quiet across the board just because I don't think they want to release anything during the DOW saga.
