If we look at the Kinta-1 well to the north-west or Vali-2 , gas shows with interpreted net gas pay in Kinta-1, are mainly concentrated near the base of the Toolachee Formation. If Kinta-1 is anything to go by, and it is closer to Vali-2 than Strathmount-1, Vali-2 should see a similar clustering of gas shows (red lines on diagram below) between 2490 - 2520m MD and hopefully net gas pay once logged near the base Toolachee; so about 150m deeper than todays announced current depth of 2403m MD as long as the sands (yellow) encountered in Kinta-1 extend laterally to Vali-2. The JVP will be watching for gas curves closely over the weekend was we progress through the lower Toolachee. Cautionary note: Coal seams generate gas shows too, so care needs to be taken when interpreting the gas shows, especially if they depth correlate with coal fragments in the drill cuttings.............
