Nobody yet mentioned the bad wind weather cell they stopped in front of so they didn't go through it? Maritime Meteorology 101. You see 35-50kt winds in a largish cell ahead of you which you can stop prior then you, that's right, stop with the other 2 ships did near them and didn't get tangled up in it.
The cell has already cleared so they'll be on their way south west again by now and have been doing so for 90 mins at least.
Net loss is around a half day delay in getting into Burnie, now due later afternoon this Friday.
