I assume you are talking about the natural hydrogen gas that GHY are working with ?

The hydrogen 'atom' only occurs as a 'positive ion' to bond with other other atoms that require a + charged ion to form a covalent bond with. It is only found naturally as as gas as a molecule i.e. 2x H+ atoms bound together as H2. With a bit/lot of heat & some O2 (another molecule, you may notice ) it reacts/combusts to form H2O + O2 - the balance equation is 2x H2 MOLECLES + 2x O2 MOLECULES = water
