the crucial question is this: what would be the cytokine pattern in this same patient group with same Covid disease severity given standard of care but NOT the Nox drug. IE a control. Unless that’s known it’s almost impossible to contextualise the results in the announcement which is why I’m treating this with high caution atm. And blood markers are one thing, but only useful if you can show they change prognosis/outcomes for patients. We know nothing yet about what happened to these patients. just because they were in hospital doesn’t mean they’d have ended up in ICU in normal circumstances.
PS: vitamin D, my understanding is that having low levels is linked with more severe Covid but the evidence for treatment with vitamin D for Covid is a bit weak.
