I'm leaning towards remobilised deposit ending up deeper and the pipe remnants have been disconnected from their original source. Faulting and folding is a major issue in the region.
The gravity anomaly significantly increases with depth to 500m and more. Something of significance is down there and I am liking the look of those blebby core samples.
