There has been discussion of the possibility of Whyalla being a Coldry/Matmor prospect in the past - the tone was somewhere between joking and deadly serious depending on the participants. Certainly some of the HC ESI regulars have personal familiarity with Whyalla. One of the participants pointed out the availability of remaining capacity for high grade (magnetite I think) iron ore with existing rail access to Whyalla as I recall. Also a company announcement some time back mentioned SA briefly though no details or follow up...

I think it's a very unwise assumption that our management have not sought to "shake his hand" though it's only for the insiders to tell if they did and if they were rebuffed or encouraged. Its hard to see this being investigated seriously before a commercial integrated Coldry/Matmor plant has been proven up.
