I don't mind alcohol and pub but I think pokies designed is for one thing only, to suck money out of its players and it deliberately designed to be addictive. There are plenty of psychology and science that go into making pokies so it is very receptive to certain people brain and they can very easily get hooked on to it.
the tactics where they throw you a win every few spins though the wins are less than your bet is pretty much feeding and condition your brain
dopamine to get addicted to this little win and over time you are hooked, the sound, the sight, the wins everything is designed to exact maximum addiction from their players.
it is family destroying stuff for those that got hooked on to it.
