Hey MrG........I understand that because the reaction is contained within a sealed envronment underground , the processing unit above ground provides the way of monitoring and varying the reaction by regulating the amount of supercritical water and thus oxygen , pressure and temperature etc to keep the reaction process within controlled parameters.
Every mineral and separation process is a "live" environment which requires constant monitoring and adjustment as the quality of the processed medium changes.
This can all be adjusted by varying the inputs into the reaction and must have as many variables as possible minimised by having a closed circuit.
The reaction volatility shown in the recent W10 video was only that vigourous because it was carried out in an open container with an unlimited amount of oxygen. In a closed circuit this will be controlled and varied to optimise the reaction to within a desired range.
