Although there are no data available on global average mined ore grades for zinc mines, the average ore grade in the mine (xm) estimated by Cox and Singer [29] is 6.05% Pb + Zn. There are also complementary studies regarding the ore grade of specific countries [30]. Using the available information on reserves and resources, the peak production year has been estimated for both metals, namely 2018 for lead and 2030 for zinc [31].
