    No thats ok buddy, in general they can either borrow shares (opening short position) or return the borrowed shares (closing the short position).

    The above Shorting process is separate to the buying and selling you see. Shortman doesnt report the trades in buy and sell it reports the amount of short positions either borrowed or returned daily.

    The aim of the current action is to get the share price as low as possible so they can buy back the shares they already borrowed and sold (2.20-2.40) so they can return them to the owners and then close their short position. Eg they borrow them then sell them as high as possible (normally after they do a pump up of the price using bots) and then they wait for any negative target and they attack the SP using bots and marker sentiment and buy the shares back as cheaply as possible , then return the share to the owner and bank the profit.

    Outside the above process a lot of the shorters know they have pushed the price low and then buy in cheaply and ride the rebound back up! its win win
