I'm only guessing but I would have thought that after production Vitrogro could be freeze dried and kept indefinitely (as you say) but in order for it to be packaged for use by the consumer it needs to be reconstituted (for want of a better word) and then packaged with a defined expiry date from that time. As I said I'm only speculating about that and stand to be corrected by someone more in the know.
