SPX has called for a Trading Halt to stop the freefall in its share price while its legal reps come up with a reply to try and ease the situation. That's why they will need all weekend to come up with a reply that some of the market may swallow. If discussions between VMC and SPX have been going on for months to try and sort it out and keep it from the courts, it only makes it worse for both companies why the dispute wasn't disclosed to the market.
