You might recall that the current factory was purported to have a capacity of 300,000 to 400,000 units a year.
The talk today is about having two factories with a combined capacity of circa 300,000 units a year.
The new direction appears to involve leasing half the factories to specialist parts manufacturers.
Maybe they will be dedicated to manufacturing VMT patented parts for distribution to the broader ICE and EV industry while satisfying VMT own brand needs
It seems they are following Gerry Harvey's "Hardly Normal"
I wonder if they are also leasing the production lines. That would explain Rojams concerns about stock building.
Harvey Normans formula is brilliant in the very volatile discretionary spend space in the way it devides the showroom into different product sections that are all owned by small entrepreneurs who pay rent and have to buy the product from Harvey Norman.
When times are tough Harvey Norman don't have a massive problem paying a bunch of employees to play cards because there are no customers.
Under the franchise system the last people standing on the sales floor are the entrepreneur and his family trying to survive while drinking Nescafé because they can't afford beens for their espresso machine.
