Are we all becoming short-term traders now?

Shouldn't we believe in a business for the long run, like five years or more?

It seems like everyone nowadays is after quick profits. What's going on with people? Why worry about short-term sales dips if the company's overall potential and market position hasn't changed? People seem to react too strongly to news all the time, and it's hard to understand.

If we're not actively trading every day or week (day or swing trading), why would anyone sell their shares based on a sales decline (short term) ? Its beyond me to understand.

Look at Warren Buffett as the best example: buy and hold. If you've chosen a winning company (which we have), you're in for some serious gains.
