Simple answer is Cars are more of a status symbol. If your going to buy a status symbol, you're willing to pay more money. Bikes are used for every day convenience their running costs are already quite cheap. Selling more expensive EVs will be extremely difficult without subsidies. With subsidies, still not simple.
