There has been much talk in regards to the recovery and reconstruction program held in Berlin with a very large attendence of some 3,400 smiling government faces from many countries and businesses with rebuilding costs in Ukraine estimated at a figure approaching one trillion dollars at this stage of the continuing destruction from Russia. Fortunately for us, we have not suffered the devastation in the west of Ukraine where ZG is unlike the east however we have been greatly affected nonetheless.
BUT.... aren't these feel good summits getting a little ahead of themselves? Am I missing something because what about the elephant in the room named Adolf Putin? He doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. I understand that forward planning is a good thing but even with the upcoming peace summit to be held in Switzerland with some 90 countries attending, the main antagonist in all this, namely Russia, will not be attending and has said that they would not attend even if invited.
Pardon my ignorance but I feel there is one very major issue to be dealt with first. Again, it's nice to hope this nightmare for the Ukrainians will be over soon but at this point seems unlikely. And some reckon I'm the optimist!?
