Yes, majority of the time entering volume production = customer demand.

It could be a situation of “build it and they will come” and that is fine.
Without the ability to mass produce and/or inability to maintain stock levels, it is very difficult to attract customers interested in large supply agreements/contracts. Large supply=$$$

Unfortunately, often nda’s are in place for the end result (product/tech) so we are likely not getting an ann of customer/s and or application until “volume” production is in full swing or thereabouts.
