I don't dispute your figures.

My figures were meant to be by way of example, not an exact figure.

My original post was:
"Say for argument's sake, 20000 chips per wafer, 6 wafers to a batch, N batches = 120000*N chips, where N is a large number."

I think that the 20K figure may have come from the shared wafer for the engineering samples, but I can't quote chapter and verse, and I don't know how many co-tenants there were on the shared wafer.

We have to write off a border around the circumference and scribe lines between rows and columns so the wafer can be diced to produce individual chips without stressing the chips, and there will be a percentage of duds. Again, I don't know how much this would reduce the harvest.
